An Economic View of Ecological Consumption under the Concept of Digital Health: A Review of the Theory of Moderate Consumption in China

Abstract:

Based on the analysis of digital health concept, this paper traces the origin of ecological consumption concept from the perspective of ecological civilization, explores the manifestation of ecological consumption concept from three aspects of cognition, emotion and consciousness, and makes a dialectical analysis of ecological consumption concept and moderate consumption theory. The ELES model for the evolution of residents’ consumption behavior is proposed, using the Wolfson polarization index to measure the income elasticity of residents’ consumption demand and the DER polarization index to measure the marginal budget amount of residents’ consumption expenditure. The estimated coefficients of the regression equations for all types of residential consumption are statistically significant at the 1.5% level, indicating that farmers' net per capita income has a significant effect on consumption. The marginal budget share of residents’ expenditure on food changes from 0.324 in 2010 to 0.295 in 2022.
