Abstract:
This study investigates integrating bio-graphic design into visual merchandising to enhance biotechnology products and services' marketability and brand value. Combining biological elements with art design creates a unique visual identity rooted in biological aesthetics. Utilizing methylene blue microbial staining as a foundation, the research develops a novel methodology for visual design. Microbial staining is completed through a reduction mechanism, followed by median filtering to enhance bacterial images. Morphological characteristics are extracted using a regional boundary chain code table, forming the basis of bio-graphic visual elements. The research further explores microbial morphology by analyzing bacterial species and the visual transformations driven by microbial metabolism, including color tipping. Simplified and reconstructed microbial visual forms are translated into a cohesive visual language, aligned with thematic elements and audience analysis. This visual language informs a structured design process, including vein construction, clear scripting, framework development, design positioning, and arrangement for biological image-based visual marketing strategies. Application results demonstrate significant improvements in product marketing performance. Post-design analysis shows an increase in page views from 206PV to 498PV and a conversion rate increase from 4.13% to 5.02%. These findings highlight the potential of bio-graphic design in areas such as product packaging, displays, advertising, and branding, offering a scalable and innovative tool for biotechnology commercialization. This research provides a foundation for applying bio-graphic design to bridge the gap between complex biological concepts and effective consumer communication, driving growth in the biotechnology sector.
