Abstract:

Digital museums, vital for cultural communication, are undergoing a digital transformation to enhance social impact. A study of 243 articles from 2005-2022 visually maps the field's status, trends, platforms, scholars, and hotspots. It proposes an integration framework for digital museums' "online-offline" models, considering research perspectives, influencing factors, processes, and effects. Digital museums are affected by social attention, visitor experience, and environmental turbulence. The "online-offline" model complements existing models, promoting museums' development based on their unique characteristics.
