Abstract

This study investigates the integration of embedded microprocessor-based multimedia and network communication technologies to foster sustainable development within preschool education. Recognizing the crucial role of early childhood education in the broader framework of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), this research highlights the current gap between preschool educators' expectations and the technological resources available to meet these needs. The development of the Multimedia and Network Communication assisted Preschool Education (MNC-PSED) System is proposed as a solution to enhance educational practices and sustainability in preschool settings. This system leverages advanced microprocessor technology to facilitate multimedia-based educational content delivery, thereby improving the efficiency and reach of preschool education. Data for this study were sourced from the Early Childhood Teaching and Assessment (ECTA) dataset, which provides insights into early childhood care and education trends. The paper discusses the design, development, and application of the MNC-PSED System, emphasizing how it can revolutionize teaching strategies by integrating network communications and multimedia resources. The application of this technology allows for a more dynamic and interactive learning environment, which is essential in the formative years of child development. By providing educators with robust and innovative tools to engage young learners, the MNC-PSED System aims to align preschool education with sustainability goals, preparing children for a future where technology and ecological awareness are intertwined. Ultimately, this research offers valuable recommendations for expanding the use of the MNC-PSED System across other preschool educational settings, suggesting directions for future development to further enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of early childhood education through biotechnological innovations.
