Biotechnological Analysis of Political Ecological Discourse: Leveraging Cognitive Linguistics and Digital Health Perspectives

Abstract

This paper delves into the evolution of digital health from its roots in information technology and Internet+ advancements to its current standing in the digital era, establishing a cognitive science paradigm closely aligned with digital health principles. We propose a theoretical framework where consciousness is viewed as a cognitive possibility, analyzing its structure and developing a computational model alongside a global workspace for cognitive consciousness. Building on this foundation, we introduce a linguistic category model specifically tailored for political discourse analysis. A critical discourse analysis framework is then applied to dissect political rhetoric, using a case study of 53 speeches and interviews from the Trump administration. Our analysis quantifies the usage of metaphorical language—flood (46.2%), fight (9.4%), war (9.5%), and invasion (8.6%)—to construct a narrative portraying illegal immigrants as a dangerous threat. Through the integration of digital health metrics and cognitive linguistics, this study not only sheds light on the linguistic strategies employed in political, ecological discourse but also demonstrates how biotechnological tools can enhance our understanding of the impact such discourse has on public perception and behavior. This approach offers a novel pathway for examining the interplay between language, cognition, and digital health technologies in the political realm
