Abstract

Knowledge plays a key role in the development and innovation of companies. Studies have stated that industry-academia interactions enhance the knowledge transfer process. The study evaluated the impact of knowledge sharing (KS) and academia-industry linkages (AIC) on knowledge transfer (KT) in biotechnology firms and universities in the United States. A sample of 251 respondents was analyzed through measurement and structural model. The findings of the study revealed that AIC significantly impacts KT (p < 0.05, and KS also has a significant impact on KT (p < 0.05). The study investigated the moderating role of innovation. As per the results, innovation significantly moderates the strength of the relationship between AIC and KT. The findings of the study provide significant practical implications. Fostering collaboration among universities and industry paves the way for enhancing knowledge to build innovative processes.
