Abstract

This paper explores the application of sports biomechanics to dance, focusing on the biomechanical analysis of spinning and tandem tumbling techniques. We conducted detailed biomechanical tests on dance movements, examining three key areas: the temporal characteristics of flat rotation techniques, the movement parameters of the lower limbs, and the center of gravity dynamics during tandem rollovers. The findings reveal that superior dancers display a notably stable center of gravity, with minimal fluctuations (approximately 200mm), indicating smooth technical execution and heightened proprioceptive awareness. The study highlights the value of biomechanical insights in refining dance techniques and enhancing educational outcomes. By utilizing advanced biomechanical metrics, we can quantify technical skill nuances and stability in dancers, offering a scientific basis for targeted improvements. Furthermore, the integration of these biomechanical analyses into dance training can lead to the development of new biotechnological tools and methods, potentially commercialize in both athletic and artistic markets. This aligns with the growing interest in applying scientific principles to enhance performance in the arts, illustrating how commercial biotechnology can bridge the gap between science and dance.
