Integrative learning and innovative teaching approach, Artificial intelligence-based teaching approaches, and virtual reality simulations have gained attention for exhibiting the ability to enhance the educational experience. The present study evaluated the impact of integrative learning and AI-based/VR methods on students’ performance in biotechnology programs in Singapore. A sample of 228 biotechnology students in Singaporean universities was collected. The study employed the structural equation modeling technique to test the hypotheses. The findings showed that integrative learning and AI-based/VR methods significantly impact students’ performance (p < 0.05). The results confirmed the importance of integrative learning to enhance students’ active learning experience, communication, and teamwork skills. AI-based and VR simulations positively influence students’ skills and motivation. The study provides practical implications for higher educational institutions, educators, and students. The study’s limitations and suggestions for future research are discussed.
