Enhancing Student Interest in Biotechnology Entrepreneurship with Engagement, Innovation, and through Problem-Based Learning and Bioethics Education

The present research has focused on analyzing the interest in bio-entrepreneurship through student’s engagement and innovation. The mediation of problem-based learning and bioethics education have also been assessed in this regard. Through the implementation of quantitative research method focused on assessing the causal relationship among variables, the present study has proceeded to assess the research topic. The researcher implemented survey strategy and through disbursement of questionnaires, the responses were attained. Data was analyzed through Smart-PLS. A series of different tests were performed to ensure construct validity, factor loadings, model fitness and structural equation modelling. Results indicated that student’s learning engagement and innovation significantly influenced the interest in bio-entrepreneurship. The mediation results were insignificant and only problem-based learning was meant to play a significant mediating role between student’s learning engagement and interest in bio-entrepreneurship. This study provides theoretical insights by assessing the unique hypothesized association among variables. Practically, this study informs that student’s interest can be enhanced in biotechnology through their learning engagement and innovation. The research limitations and future indications have also been addressed in the study.
