The ongoing reforms in higher education demand innovative teaching models that align with the evolving needs of the modern era, particularly in disciplines such as biotechnology, where practical and interdisciplinary skills are paramount. This study explores the integration of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) concept into the design of online hybrid courses, addressing the limitations of traditional teaching methods. By leveraging the OBE framework, the research proposes a systematic approach to curriculum reform, including the establishment of clear teaching objectives, restructuring of course content, adoption of innovative teaching methodologies, and the implementation of robust evaluation systems. Taking the "Engineering Economics and Budget" course as a case study, this paper illustrates how OBE-driven hybrid teaching models can enhance the quality of education by fostering critical thinking, practical application, and collaborative learning. Empirical findings demonstrate that such reforms significantly improve student learning outcomes and promote holistic skill development, aligning with the competencies required in biotechnology and related fields. This study underscores the potential of OBE-based hybrid teaching designs to advance higher education, particularly in fostering industry-ready professionals in sectors like biotechnology.
