Optimizing Technology Transfer: Assessing the effectiveness of university-collaboration for innovation and research in the biotechnology sector in Europe

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze the effect of Industry-academia collaboration models for biotechnology translation and commercialization in the UK. The independent variables include technology transfer and innovative orientation, the dependent variable is biotechnology venture performance. The study also analyses the mediation of knowledge sharing and moderation of academia-industry collaboration. The research method of the study is quantitative, and data is collected through survey. The target population of the study is experts from the biotechnology sector in the UK. Statistical analysis has been conducted to analyze the collected data. The findings of the study have shown that KST, TT and UIC do not have significant impact on IBS, however they cast a significant impact on RI. But IBS has an insignificant impact on RI. In addition, the mediating impact of IBS is found to be insignificant.
