Abstract

The process of commercializing a new item or service in the U.S. health care market involves three distinct but necessary components: coverage, coding, and reimbursement.  This article provides an overview of these processes and the challenges in successfully navigating the course and spotting the particular issues for individual items and services.

    Robert Wanerman is a Senior Counsel at Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. in Washington, D.C.  He provides regulatory and compliance counsel to a wide group of  health care manufacturers, providers, and investors in coverage, coding, and reimbursement matters.  He received an A.B. from The University of Chicago, a J.D. from New York Law School, and a M.P.H. from Columbia University.
