Abstract:

This study explores the pivotal role of digital technology in English-Chinese translation within the context of the Chinese medical sector. The rapid globalization of medical knowledge and the growing demand for accurate and timely translation in the field have propelled the integration of digital tools and techniques. This research investigates the evolving landscape of translation technologies, including machine translation, computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, and natural language processing (NLP) applications, and their impact on the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of English-Chinese medical translations. Through a comprehensive review of current literature and practical case studies, this paper examines the advantages and challenges of digital technology adoption in medical translation, shedding light on the potential benefits of enhanced productivity and reduced translation errors. Furthermore, it discusses the ethical and cultural considerations that emerge when employing automated translation solutions in sensitive healthcare. This research provides insights into digital technology's transformative influence on English-Chinese medical translation and offers valuable recommendations for practitioners, translators, and stakeholders seeking to optimize translation processes in the Chinese medical sector. As the healthcare industry becomes increasingly interconnected globally, understanding the nuances and implications of digital technology integration in translation practices becomes indispensable for ensuring accurate and effective cross-cultural communication in medicine.
